Emerging Liquidity Investment Trends

This discussion will address how key technology and product innovation themes are impacting the treasury management landscape. Technological and digital advances are accelerating and provide opportunities to transform and modernize Treasury processes to including managing cash flows and short-term investments.  Treasury Management Systems (TMS) use also continues to evolve.   A variety of environment, social and governance themed liquidity investment products have recently become available.  We will discuss the different types of products and how to think about their impact relative to your corporate and investment goals.

Speakers: 

J. Wade Olson, Treasury Suite

J. Wade Olsen is a co-founder of Treasury Suite, a cash management and treasury fintech that provides a simple but powerful Treasury Management System (TMS) and a unique relationship-oriented bank fee benchmarking tool. These solutions help companies of any size and industry better manage their cash, investments, and banking relationships. Prior to Treasury Suite, he served as the Central Treasury Officer (Treasurer) for Chugach Alaska Corporation, the Treasurer and VP Investor Relations for AMI Semiconductor, Treasurer and Director Investor Relations for Iomega Corporation, VP of Operations and Treasurer for Consonus, and the Director Investor Relations and Treasurer for TenFold. He is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and earned a Master of International Management and MBA in Finance from Thunderbird School of Global Management and holds certificates in Japanese business and law from Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan, as well as a BA in Finance with a Minor in Japanese from the University of Utah.

Kevin Waldeck, Morgan Stanley Investment Management

Kevin is a senior member of the Institutional Liquidity team responsible for maintaining the relationships of MSIM’s liquidity and fixed income clients throughout the western region of the United States. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2010 and has 33 years of industry experience. Prior to joining the firm, Kevin was a regional director for Wells Capital Management's Institutional Liquidity team and a senior vice president for Wachovia Bank's Evergreen Investments Institutional Liquidity team, with over eighteen years focused on the corporate liquidity market. Previously, he served as a regional director for SEI Investments' Money Manager Outsourcing division, and as a vice president for Wells Fargo Bank's mutual fund division. Kevin received his B.S. in business and finance from the University of Southern California.
